A program to care for seedlings planted in the green footprint was held.
The Addis Ababa Housing Development and Administration Bureau, Housing Development Corporation and Kolfe Keraniyo Sub-district Housing Administration Office leaders and office staff conducted a program to care for seedlings planted in the green footprint in Kolfe Woreda 06, Augusta area in 2016/17 under the theme "A country that plants, a generation that strengthens".
During this program, watering, weeding and cleaning the seedlings were carried out.
In her speech, the Head of Addis Ababa Housing Development and Administration Bureau, Ms. Qadda W. Giorgis, stated that in order to create a beautiful city that is green and beautiful for generations to come, we should take care of the seedlings we have planted, strengthen them and make them grow to achieve results.
We will do our part to create a better Addis Ababa by repeating the good performance we have achieved in our regular work, he said.
The Head of the Sub-City Urban Beautification and Green Development Office, Ato Zayed Biyede, recalled that various community groups participated in the winter program, starting from the preparation of wells, and that they were able to plant nearly 8 million seedlings out of the planned 6.9 million seedlings. He stressed that everyone should take care of these seedlings.
He added that our green development work is enabling our city to become a tourist attraction, and the head conveyed a message that planting is not the only goal, but should be nurtured and nurtured.
